In
a partnership of staff and other stakeholders, the Ministry
of Health will promote and safeguard the physical, mental
and social well-being and enhanced quality of life of the
Jamaican people by empowering individuals and communities
and ensuring access to adequate health care through the provision
of cost-effective promotive, preventative, curative and rehabilitative
services delivered by adequately trained and motivated personnel.
Within the MINISTRY OF HEALTH, there
is the Health Promotion & Protection Division Mission
of Health Promotion & Protection Division:
- To promote health through specific programmes that will
enable individuals to lead healthy lifestyles in healthy
and safe environments with the reduced risk of disease and
injury
- Provide the evidence through surveillance, research and
analysis to guide the development and evaluation of interventions
and provide rapid and appropriate response to health threats.
- Empowerment of individuals, communities/organizations
to take responsibility for their health through the building
of partnerships.
