Frequently heard Terms & Definitions In Cheerleading
   
Base: The bottom person of a partner stunt or pyramid
Flyer: The top person of a partner stunt or pyramid
Spotter:

The person who is responsible for assisting and catching the top person in a partner stunt or pyramid

Cheer: A shout of applause (introducing schools/teams)
Chant: A monotonous rhythmic shout or song (state intentions or capabilities)
Motion Technique: Movements of arms/legs to cheers/chants or music
Partner Stunt: The flyer stands or Sits on the shoulder of the base
Pyramid: Two or more bases standing facing each other, holds aloft a flyer
Pop-Cradle Dismount from a stunt in which the base/bases toss the flyer straight up from a stationary stunt and then catches the flyer in a cradle
Elevator: Timing stunt in which flyer stands with foot in the hands of bases at shoulder level
Liberty: Stunt in which the base/bases holds one foot of f he flyer while the other foot is lifted in a bent knee position
Double Toe Touch: High jump with legs in straddle position and arms touching toes
Tumbling: Perform gymnastic feats of rolls cartwheels, handsprings or somersaults
Herkie: High jump with one leg forward and the other back
